## Reference: Gateway capabilities

The Gateway runs nine integrated capabilities locally with no cloud dependency:

1. **AI Assistant (Fully Offline)**: Local large language model (Qwen 2.5 3B) running on GPU via Ollama. Browser-based chat interface through Open WebUI. Supports RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) over local documents and tool calling (GPS, routing, file search). Optional cloud model routing (Claude, GPT) when internet is available.

2. **ATOC (Tactical Operations Suite)**: Team coordination, task management, and operational planning platform. Runs fully offline on the device. Part of the broader ATOC ecosystem (atoc.io).

3. **Offline Maps & Navigation**: Full OpenStreetMap coverage of North America with offline turn-by-turn navigation via Valhalla routing engine. Vector map tiles served locally via PMTiles. Optional GPS overlay and ADS-B aircraft tracking (with SDR receiver).

4. **Team Situational Awareness (TAK)**: Full TAK server (OpenTAK Server) for ATAK (Android), WinTAK (Windows), and iTAK (iOS) clients. Share positions, drop markers, draw routes, and coordinate over the local network.

5. **Ham Radio AI Gateway**: Voice-to-voice AI over radio. Connects via USB audio interface to 20+ supported radio models (Baofeng, Yaesu, Kenwood, ICOM, TYT, Anytone, Wouxun, and more). Speech-to-text, LLM reasoning, text-to-speech, radio TX pipeline. Nine specialized AI agents: GRIDBASE (default), Field Medic, Comms Operator, Tactical Advisor, Strategic Planner, OSINT Analyst, Small Unit Tactics, Emergency Manager, Navigation Expert. Requires valid FCC amateur radio license to transmit.

6. **File Sharing & Storage**: Web-based file browser with drag-and-drop. Nextcloud for full cloud storage suite (document editing, calendar, contacts). USB mass storage support for external drives.

7. **Network Monitoring & Metrics**: Grafana dashboards and Prometheus metrics for system health, service status, and network activity. CPU, GPU, RAM, temperatures, disk, fan speed, power draw monitoring.

9. **Maestro Mode**: Bootstrap any computer (Windows, Linux, Mac) into the Gateway network with one command. New machines run their own services on the shared network. Expand compute capacity by adding any device that boots.
